ISTO VELOCIOR VITA – Here, the faster life (or Thither is life swifter)
Drove up to pretty Old Warden's church to get a shot for the Feb Words 'Place of Worship'. I have shot the church before (when Cathy rang her first quarter peal there) and wanted a different angle. I love the inside of the church (which was shut today) so got the closest thing- the porch and doorway. They were erected in 1952, in memory of Richard Shuttleworth who died in WW2 and citing the family motto. He had a love of cars and planes, and the nearby Shuttleworth Collection is from the trust set up after his passing. The Shuttleworth family have given numerous windows and additions to the church over the years, I love how the brickwork has changed over the centuries... obvious here on the walls beside the porch.
