There was a very simple tribute at the foot of the steps to the parish church of Sutton Coldfield - on each side there was a pair of huge poppies with the silhouette of a soldier in front. After a service nearer to my house and paying respects with my sister-in-law I drove to Sutton and got a shot of the tribute, which I thought was both elegant and simple. And very fitting. A very emotional day all over I think, we must never forget.
