I got the keys to my new house a few days before the removals were booked, so to save money on packing I asked them just to move the furniture... and I spent days driving back and forth with 'tricky' things like the garden pots, kitchen crockery etc. It worked really well, actually - it meant I could ferry most of it carefully in large carriers and unpack as I went, thus avoiding the forest of cardboard / not being able to find anything for the first few days! Oh boy I slept well though.
One of the first things I took was this lovely jar of light from my sister, and the Ganeche which I had kept by my fireside for nearly 20 years. I thought they looked kind of homely beside each other. :)
Dead chuffed you called by - thank you.
