Kind of ironic that I can get a close-up photo of a tropical non-native bird, but nothing in focus that I'd find in my own garden! I had loved seeing these little birds in photos from Australia and delighted to go to a theme park yesterday and walk through the 'lorikeet lagoon' and even feed them nectar! It seemed an unlikely snapshot from someone in Bedfordshire England so the polaroid frame seemed apt!
Phil - it's lovely to see someone show up my old man (Tony) ...these birds have been driving him nuts with their Siren like squawks in the backyard...but nary a feather when he pulls out the camera :) Absolutely superb shot!
Great capture! They are gorgeous birds :) Given me a heart attack a couple of times this week though. They seem to like to fly low, right in front of my windscreen when I'm driving! Made me jump!!!!
@natr Hello! Ha - loved your comment but must confess that these lorikeets were both a captive audience and very tame..! Your Dad had to do so much more to get a shot than dangle a cup of their favourite treat at them - and I guess he doesn't want to encourage them.. perhaps he needs to dangle the camera outside to keep them quiet! Thanks though for your kind praise and for stopping by :) @tonydebont
