Triangular Flower

This is a lovely flower I found in my garden, just next to my door. One day it was just a lot of green leaves, the next there was this lovely flower. I have no idea what it is, so if anyone can enlighten me (I'm not very good in the garden!) that would be fantastic!

Definitly a Gladiolus How is possible you don`t know who`s planted the bulb .In winter (frost) you have to protect it . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladiolus

Certainly is a gladioli....I took a shot of ours today....and with the sun on the petals they are iridescent........We never protect ours in the UK winter and they pop back up every year :)

That's a very pretty gladioli. You're lucky as I tried to grow some a couple of years ago and failed miserably !
