Illuminating York includes a wide variety of light and sound events around York city centre, and here is part of the display in the gardens in the Treasurer's House.
Sculptures of animals are accompanied by people in animal and plant costumes and a team of dancers.
The information brochure says 'Venture into the walled garden of Treasurer’s House and enter the home of the gods, Asgard. Use all your senses to explore your surroundings, then prepare to go to a place beyond. Witness the gods from afar or up close.'
It certainly provided a visual feast, and more than one person was startled when one of the plants suddenly came to life and began to move around!
