Some of the stations on the Paris metro have different themes, and today I changed line at Arts et Métiers. It serves the Musée des arts et métiers (art and craft museum), hence the name. In 1994 it was redesigned to look like it does today, with the cogs in the ceiling and the metallic walls, to mark the bicentenary of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Apparently it's in a steampunk style, influenced by Jules Verne's sci-fi works. - Lucy

@fishers - I seem the remember the Louvre had a good display many years ago. La Concorde always had buskers along the big corridors but they were rather fun.
