I went to the University to get a shot of historic Heslington Hall, and around which the university was built in the 1960s. Unfortunately it has several areas covered in scaffolding, so that will have to wait for another time.
Instead I had a walk around some of the older campus and took a selection of shots, particularly of some of the older concrete buildings from the 1960s. Many of these have been replaced in recent years, so I wanted to record some of the survivors while they still exist.
The collage shows (top left) a tree trunk carved into a sculpture of birds, one of many sculptures around the campus, (top right) one of the old concrete accommodation blocks, (bottom left) black swans beside the lake, (bottom centre) another of the old concrete accommodation blocks, (bottom right) the Central Hall, projecting into the lake.
Thank you Bob - I need to go back to get a shot of Heslington Hall, when the scaffolding comes down, and also to get some shots of the recent buildings.

Thank you Terese - I don't remember if there is a view from the Central Hall, it's a long time since I was in there for a concert.

Thank you Richard. Most of this is a reminder of what was built in the 1960s. I need to get shots of the recent buildings when I get chance.

Thank you Tony - I need shots of the more modern buildings next, and Heslington Hall when the scaffolding comes down.
Ian
Thank you Debbie - I used a collage because I was rather spoiled for choice and wasn't sure what to post. (What a cop-out!)
Ian
Thank you Rose, glad you like it - more to follow of Heslington Hall, when the scaffolding is taken down!
Ian
Thank you Dianne, glad you like it. It was fascinating to see what of the 1960s architecture still survives.
Ian
Thank you Sarah - it really does need blue sky - a grey sky with these grey buildings is a rather depressing view!
Ian
Than you John, glad you like it.

Thank you Angela - the campus is really attractive. I'm hoping to take another visit before too long.
