Paris - Saint-Séverin Church by fishers

Paris - Saint-Séverin Church

An early post today, because I will be catching a Eurostar train back to London this afternoon, and then an East Coast service on to York.

One thing that Paris has a lot of is attractive churches. Most people will have heard of Notre Dame and the Sacré-Cœur, but I've chosen one of the many other smaller churches - Saint-Séverin. Lucy and I first discovered this church just before Easter, but there was a service in progress, so we decided we would return at a later time.

Parts of the church date back several hundred years, but there are touches of modernity too, with relatively recent stained glass. I loved the carved pillars, like the one in the centre of this shot.

Thank you all for your recent comments and favs. We will be better able to respond and catch up now that my intensive and extensive tour of Paris is coming to an end.
