Fountain's Hall has three rooms open to the public.
The top smaller picture shows a three hundred year old pear wood carving, bearing the motto:"Nec Cesso, Nec Erro" which means "I won't rest, I won't stray". Underneath it is a shot of the Minstrels Gallery which dates from the Hall being built in around 1600.
The figures dressed from the 1700's are in a room thought to have been the library, with oak panelling and furnishings appropriate to this period.
You can stay in one of the flats in the Hall or even get married in its Chapel!
Oh, I'm so enjoying your family visit to Fountan's Abbey/Hall Kathryn - wouldn't it be fun to get married in the chapel dressed in period costume... and no Ian, that's not a proposal to your beloved ;~}
Great collage of nice and beautiful pic.`s to show us . Thanks for the interesting info.
Also many thanks for you fav. again. You spoil me but/and I`m very pleased with it/that.
@vignouse Thanks Richard. I think your idea would be fun. I could see a couple involved with one of the history re-enactment societies might consider a wedding there. Katharine
