This lovely flower in the sun, could audition for a starring role in the decorations for the staging of the Tour de France in York.
Everything is coming up yellow, bikes, flags and flowers, to welcome the tour to the city.
Recently the council have reminded residents of the need for floral displays in the relevant colour (they gave away packets of yellow flower seeds earlier in the year). The flowers on this bush certainly seem to fit the bill.
Very yellow and a lovely inside to it. Is it "Rose of Sharon"? I have the shrub version in my garden and I noticed there are 2 yellow flowers open today. Great, bright shot.
Wooo, that's YELLOW! Thanks for updating us Katharine. As a matter of interest Le Tour went right by the end of our lane, 100 metres from the house, last year. You have to be quick when the peleton passes though, it's all over in a few seconds... literally!
@vignouse Thanks Richard for the comment and advice. I'll go to see if I can get pictures but that is really Ian's expertise. I may stick to events around the route. Katharine
