Merry and Jingle by fishers

Merry and Jingle

I was introduced to these little elves when I visited Louise and her family. They came through a magic door complete with a letter from Father Christmas and behaviour charts for the children Louise cares for. They are shown with their magic door, eating chocolates, making lego models and looking after the advent candle.

I think Louise is having more fun with them than the children! A copy of Father Christmas' letter is below for those interested.

Dear Friends,

We are very busy at the North Pole this Christmas and are unable to give some of the younger elves the supervision and training they require. Therefore we have carefully selected a number of families to play host to these elves over the holiday season.

It is with extreme pleasure that I write to inform you that two of our little elves, Merry Snowflake and Jingle Wintertree have been assigned to you and your family. These magical elves will be with you from now until Christmas Eve, when I will return to collect them as I make my deliveries.

We have given Merry and Jingle the special task of checking whether you have been naughty or nice. Any acts of kindness or misbehaviours will be reported in their journal. They will also record all the fun they have had with you. On their last day they will fill out a final report to be returned to me. Not only will they do this for Oliver and Evelyn, but they will do this for all the children that come regularly to the house. These children are: Anders, Mark, James, Daniel, Victoria.

Magic elves are curious creatures. They are very caring and a lot of fun, but I should also warn you that they can be quite mischievous. As with magic toys they only move when no one is looking, but they are aware of what is going on at all times. They particularly like taking photos of their exploits, so watch out!

Please look after Merry and Jingle well, and make sure they have lots of cuddles and somewhere warm and snug to sleep.

I hope you all have a wonderful time together.

Yours Sincerely,

Father Christmas
