Christmas day in Stonegate, York by fishers

Christmas day in Stonegate, York

Stonegate in York has been a busy thoroughfare for centuries and was one of the old Roman roads.

Normally a picture like this would be full of people but on Christmas day it is possible to take a picture and see some of the lovely Medieval and Georgian buildings.

A lovely historic place to live and wander.

@vignouse Thank you for the comment and fav. I like to be reminded of what York was like years ago when it had a quiet period in winter. It seems to have contracted to a couple of days a year! No doubt the city fathers are pleased it is so busy all year round. Katharine
