'Flying Scotsman' is drawing huge crowds of spectators wherever it goes, and this run was no different. Sadly, some take foolish risks and put themselves in danger while trying to see it pass.
Arrival in York was 75 minutes late, due to trespassers on the line at various places, and many other services were delayed as well. There is a real risk that steam hauled specials could be suspended as a result of such bad behaviour, which would be a huge shame.
York was the end of this run, which started from London Victoria. One of the crew rests and looks out of the cab window towards a mass of spectators at the adjacent platform.
'Flying Scotsman' may be 93 years old, but still makes a gracefull and attractive sight when out and about on the main line.

My comment about suspension of steam hauled specials has come rather sooner than I expected. A run next saturday from London to York and back has been reduced in scale, with diesel haulage between London and Newark before Flying scotsman takes the run between there and York. Hopefully those responsible for the earlier trespass incedents will take note and behave more sensibly from now on. So sad if the huge amount of money spent on making this locomotive fit for the main line is wasted due to a ban.
