Katharine and I had a day trip to Accrington in Lancashire last Thursday which involved completing a town trail, and walks around Oak Hill and Haworth Parks.
Haworth Park is the location of Accrington's art gallery which is housed in a lovely Arts and Crafts building, and which contains a large collection of Tiffany Glass.
The art gallery also provides a great vantage point to view the surrounding countryside. Here in the afternoon sun we look east-north-east over the parkland surrounding the art gallery, with in the distance farmland and in the far distance areas of moorland.
Thank you all for your comments and fav, it is interesting to hear your thoughts on our photos.
Lancashire is a county of contrasts - former cotton towns, rolling farmland and high moors. A fascinating mix of places well worth exploring.

Thank you Raymond - I could fee the distant hills calling me!
