Pickering railway station again, with a southern Schools class locomotive 926 'Repton' arriving under the station roof at the end of it's journey from Grosmont to the north.
This station forms the southern terminus of the 18 mile long privately owned North York Moors Railway. Much work has been done in recent years to restore the station building to what it would have looked like many years ago, and to provide much needed facilities. The most obvious change is the new roof over platforms and track. This can make photography a little more challenging, but recreates the atmosphere that would once have existed at many railway stations in this area.
There is something special about the sight of a steam locomotive working - you can expect to see more of them here in the future!
