After the steam train photos and floods I had a wander around part of York city centre. I had seen this sign previously, but I wasn't quite sure how to get a shot of it without disturbing people in what has become a busy part of the city centre, so I went for another look.
It is College Green, outside St Williams College, with the east end of York Minster in the background. College Green is another of the places where picnic tables have been placed to enable people to eat outdoors having hopefully bought food and drinks at some of the nearby small cafes.
By the time I got there the day was becoming increasingly dull, with a few spots of rain, so the area was rather less busy than it had been on my previous visit, so I could take this shot without the crowds. However, the dull weather means the shot really doesn't do justice to the York sign.
If you notice the building at the very right of the shot, I spent several months living there with a family after finishing my time at college. An amazing place to live right at the heart of the city.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I do find that the attempts to attract people to the city centre are, on the whole, quite attractive and are slowly working. It is good to see more people out and about, though it is not yet anywhere near as busy as it would normally be.
This capture proves it

Thank you Taffy, I think this is quite a cheerful addition to the city centre.

Thank you Vesna - it is a lovely building. I've taken a lot of photos there, both inside and outside.
