Yes, I know the Coronation was over a week ago, but Katharine and I only made it to Thirsk on Friday to see the Thirsk Yarnbombers display for the Coronation. Sadly, wet weather had prevented us getting there earlier.
The display continues until 28th May. It has received considerable publicity and even appeared on the BBC TV news. The earlier display of New Life can still be seen. It has simply been moved across the road onto the bollards there.
The creativity and skill of the Thirsk Yarnbombers is very impressive. It will be interesting to see what ideas they develop for their next display!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I'm always impressed by the creations of the Thirsk Yarnbombers, and look forward to each new display.
On the bus journey back to York from Thirsk we stopped off in Easingwold for an hour, since on the bus to Thirsk we had seen several yarnbombs there. Our brief exploration found two post box toppers, and a lot of knitted figures around the market cross. We are giung to have to keep alert for further displays there as well!
