Nest by flowerfairyann

Nest

A hen pheasant has laid her eggs in a clump of daffodils in the garden - as of today there are 16. Mum was off stretching her legs so I was able to take this photo. Hoping to see babies in the next few weeks.
How very exciting to have wildlife so close and to be able to follow the progress.

How lovely, hopefully you'll be able to watch them grow up a little bit!

how exciting. Are they really a green colour, or is that just a reflected colour from the plants.

Wow, pheasant eggs! I don't think I have ever seen them before. Hope they do well.

@deborah63 @casablanca it's the reflected green, I think, Debbie. I've never seen pheasant eggs before Casablanca, and I've lived in the country all my life. Just hoping the hen isn't too ferocious when they hatch - they will chase and peck humans!

It all seems to be kicking off quite suddently. Hardly seems a few months ago that I was watching the swan eggs on the river. Hope these ones do well. That is a big brood.
