I wield my needle with a flourish of great self-importance. Tapestry is very grown up. My mother is making blue and grey valances for the dining room. My pillow design has endlessly enormous triangles to fill, but I finish it. My mother's never finished valances languish in the basement, awaiting the day I turn them into pillows.
I cannot imagine having the patience to finish something this intricate especially as a child.
