A pretty useful day today building a netting cage around the gooseberries with help from lovely friends Justina and Caroline. That will hopefully see off the pesky pigeons that ate all of them last year. Pity we snapped the spade and the fork in the process but you can't have everything. Weird that they both went at the same time.
Too strong for your own goods! My best spade came from my dad because A) he bought a good one and B) he sharpened it. Unfortunately B) lacks longevity- I’d better get myself a sharpening stone.
