After yesterday's big ice storm all the bird feeders and all the naturally occurring seeds were covered in a thick layer of ice. We went out and just threw some seeds around on the ground and it seems that just about every bird in the area showed up in our back yard to have a bit of a feed. From these little brown sparrows, to cardinals, to grackles, and doves, they all dropped by. at one point there was even a little chipmunk foraging among the scattered seeds. The only one of our usual visitors that I didn't see were the bluejays.
