Over the past few years, this garden bench has provided the background in shots of several kinds of birds, squirrels, a chipmunk or two, a couple of my cats etc. Yesterday when I went out, all it held was this snail and the little piece of branch. Not sure how either, especially the snail, got there since it was a hot and dry spot, not usually all that appealing, I'd have thought, to a snail.
