Green Oranges by gardencat

Green Oranges

These oranges wouldn't have done for Tuesday but they work for today's green rainbow image.
I recently learned something interesting about oranges. Apparently, being orange in colour is more a result of cool temperatures before the orange is picked, rather than with ripening. A similar phenomenon to the fall leaf colour changes, in cooler climates, turns the oranges orange. In climates where those cooler temperatures do not occur oranges ripen but remain green. This came as news to me.
fascinating to know about the oranges - great frame full of green

What you've shared about an orange's color is news to me as well. Thanks for the science lesson! Great all-green photo.

Isn't that interesting. So green oranges can be ripe! This has such a nice range of greens.
