For some reason, the dragonflies seem to be avoiding any type of natural place to land. They perch on an ugly brick wall, a metal brace, or a rusty piece of rebar. I did catch one on a dark purple salvia flower once, immediately in front of a brick wall. Between blending in with the dark salvia, and clashing with the red brick wall, it wasn't a great image.
