I went ice skating with friends this evening. We went downtown to the same skating trails on the frozen Red River from the photos I posted last week. Before skating, I spent some time taking pictures. I was quite impressed with these two hockey players in the photo . . . they were sharing the ice with a young girl learning how to skate. She would slowly skate across the ice and then back again over to her mother. Each time, the two hockey players gave her plenty of room and skated around her. I like the "feel good" story behind this photo but I also like the lighting on the ice and the Winnipeg night skyline in the background.
Beautiful capture, Gayle. The light on the ice is lovely, and so is your story of the thoughtful hockey players. It's so great to see people being nice to each other, isn't it?
