My nephew's wife, Emma, had her first book published recently and Saturday we attended a Reading and Book Signing event at a bookstore in Austin, Texas to launch her debut novel, "Devils Unto Dust".
Emma and my nephew, Mike, live in New Zealand where my nephew works as an animator for the Weta Digital company. We haven't seen them in over a year so it was absolutely wonderful to visit with them and be there to support Emma in celebrating the launch of her debut novel.
I posted a photo of Emma signing our copy of her novel in my Extras album: https://365project.org/gaylewood/extras/2018-04-14
@carole_sandford Thank you so much for commenting, Carole! Yes, it's very exciting! It has been about five years since Emma first started working on the novel so we're extremely proud of her for persevering and seeing it all the way through being published. :-)

I started reading the book yesterday and I'm about halfway finished. It's a Young Adult action novel, described by one reviewer as "True Grit" meets "28 Days Later". The book is quite different from what I usually read but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Of course, I'm definitely biased since my nephew's wife wrote the book. :-)
