This was my first attempt at getting photos of hummingbirds in the trees on the lookout and ready to chase off any other hummers approaching the feeders. They are quite protective of their feeding territory. Patience was definitely required for this shooting experience as they rarely land in the same place twice and only seem to stay perched for a matter of seconds. I definitely plan on continuing to practice with more of these shots of hummers in the trees.

Gayle, this is fabulous! Love the background too. I took 100 photos of hummers in Montana one time, one was okay but not great. Your hummingbird photos are so good!
