This doe has a fawn nearby, up the hill in those trees. I caught a glimpse of the fawn on Sunday but it ran off quickly and found a new hiding place. Recently, this doe has been staying in this area for most of the day. She eats the birdseed that scatters from the feeders, which is what she was doing here before I walked up with the camera . . . you can see the bits of leaves on her nose from trying to find the seed in the grass and leaves. I would love to get a photo of the fawn and doe together . . . we leave Texas next Tuesday for Canada for the summer, so I'm hoping the fawn will come out of hiding before then and start roaming around a bit with the doe.
Thank you so much for your incredible comments and favs on yesterday's butterfly photo! Very much appreciated! :-)
She is so beautiful and graceful. Hope you do get a shot of her and her baby together. Try leaving some hay, apples, and real grain (sweet feed is best) for a couple of days. She'll probably bring baby with her then,
Awww she’s being careful but she didn’t bolt, that’s a good sign! I hope the fawn comes out before you leave, too! Canada! The weather will be cooler there, for sure. Nice!
This is a marvellous shot! She has an apologetic look on her face, as if she's been caught eating the birds' food! I hope you get baby too before you head for cooler climes!
@louannwarren I'm definitely looking forward to the cooler temps in Canada . . . it's predicted to be in the low 70's when we arrive next week. It's always tricky packing because here in Texas I'm not thinking in terms of sweats and jackets right now but we'll need them there as the evenings get quite chilly. :-)
