Blushing Canna*

While helping my husband mow an elderly lady's yard this evening, I noticed this unusual canna stalk amongst the greenery. I'm still working on the rule of thirds as I tend to center things.

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. - Claude Monet

*After posting this, I realized it's not a canna but rather a gladiolus, which explains why there was only the one flower stalk. Many of the flower species in this yard were originally grown by the owner's mother.
Very pretty colors, and nice detail on the subject against the blur of the background.

Beautiful colors and a good strong line moving up toward the right corner of your shot. Well done.

@daisyjuds @taffy @kbird61 @frankhymus Thanks for your kind comments on my "Blushing Canna" pix, which i've now realized was actually a gladiolus.
