"When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd..." is a lovely poem by Walt Whitman (1819-1892.) He is a much-loved American poet who celebrated Nature in many of his extensive works.
Very pretty. My lilacs are not open yet.

what a beautiful close up of what is one of (I think) the most fragrant of all flowering bushes. I love lilacs and this is a wonderful close up of them.

@kdrinkie Once again, thanks so much, Kim. I really worked at finding a bloom that had open flowers AND buds. As for the fragrance, I agree; it is sublime. Just another simple example of how Nature does it best. Be well, Les
