@oleary Lots of thanks Theresa - I had to spend time daily for almost 2 weeks with a little family of English Sparrows so they would become accustomed to me. Once they did, I could get in good and close. Sometimes I never even bothered taking pictures. It was wonderful just be with them as they enjoyed the food I brought for them. Hope you are having a good weekend, Les
@nicolecampbell Hi Nicole - Isn't he just a little sweetie! He's an English Sparrow, and not native to the U.S. They can be found EVERY WHERE, and usually have 3 broods in one season. As with most of our songbirds, only about 80% of the babies reach adulthood mostly because of predation. Theses are cheerful; lively little birds that chirp rather than sing. I love having them around every year. Take good care, Les
@paulaag Well thank you very much Paula. The time I spent feeding the little brood (almost 2 weeks!) to get them accustomed to me really payed off in lots shots like this. I could get as close as I wanted without distressing them. Be well, Les
