This little "Leprechaun Chipmunk" sports a green cast from the reflection of the lichen you see on the rocks, and the bright green grass that you don't see. I love the reflection in his eyes; what do you see in them??
(I did crop this photo in order to center the little sweetie.)
Greetings! I'm from Connecticut (USA) Photography is one of my lifelong passions (others including gardening, woodworking, history, and being a part...
This is a great macro shot of the chipmunk. I think these guys are sweet. We had several colonies last summer but only seen one chipmunk this summer. I think maybe they got rained out this spring.
@honestabe Hi Abe, and thanks so much for checking in; it's really nice to see you back. :-) Too bad about the decline in your Chipmunk population; they are just way too cute, and fun to watch (and photograph.) Be well, Les
@kdrinkie Hi Kim - Hope that you are doing well. Isn't it absolutely amazing that you can see the whole landscape in the reflection of eye that's smaller than a pea! I love these sorts of things because I don't see them until I see the picture enlarged on the computer, and it's , "Wow!" "Oh, cool".........Take care, Les
@jml0306 Hello Joseph, and thank so much for stopping by. It's always exciting to see a new face! Speaking of exciting, I took a quick look through your "365", and your work is fabulous! Bursting with color and interest; Im looking forward to future postings. Be well, Les
I just love this Leslie. When I paint, I always try to put a bit of reflective colors in everything...so I understand green chipmunks.
What a wonderful shot.
@maggie2 Thanks so much, Maggie. It somehow escaped me, or I have forgotten that you paint. How absolutely marvelous!!!! Part of the reason I photgraph is beCAUSE I can't paint. Think about this one: show us a favorite painting by taking a picture of it - I would totally love to see one. Thanks as always, Les
What a wonderful shot.
