At The Ready

With this photograph, I wish to thank all of the people who keep me safe, (not just Firefighters) and honor the memory of all the service personnel who perished in the 9/11 attack.
This picture shows the detailed preparedness of our Firefighters being at the ready. It is also part of the reason why they can be out the door with a 34 ton ladder truck in only 51 seconds. I was there when several calls came in, and the precision was remarkable. So is their commitment and dedication. With gratitude and prayers.......

@shellbelle Yes they are, Michelle. I had the chance to chat with them and they are an amazing group of men, and so very friendly and affable too. They take their work very seriously, and more than one told me that they very often go to work wondering whether that will be their last day on earth. (That made tears roll down my cheeks.) With all the potential dangers in their job I asked each one why they were't in the military; Every Single One said it was because they wanted to serve the community they live in. Aren't they something.......Les :-)
