English Sparrow by glimpses

English Sparrow

I'm sorry that I haven't keeping up with you all the way I'd like to, but I'm really struggling here.
My thumb is pretty wrecked, and will require 2 surgeries to mend. The first is Oct. 26th where both joints will be operated on. I am told that the most I can expect is to recover 70%-80% of the usage and strength that I'm used to, and that it should handle most of the pain. The second surgery is somewhere down the road, and is "much more intricate", as it involves the nerves. The complexiites of how I'm going to get through all this all on my own, the emotional distress, and lots of other "baggage" has left me drained, depressed, and dispirited.
I will do some postings to stay to try to "stay in the game", but I aplogize in advance for any comments unanswered, and responses unsaid. I am just bone-weary, and so very discouraged.
Heartfelt thanks to all of you for all of your generous, wonderful comments, and interest in my work during the past week and more.
It is always welcome, and much appreciated - Les
Oh Les I am really sorry to hear this. We will be thinking of you on 26 October and wishing you a speedy recovery. This is a wonderful photo and the processing is perfect. Wishing you a lovely weekend, we have a 4th birthday party on Sunday and the preparations are well underway. Keep an eye out for the photos! Take care, Nic x

Very nice detail and bokeh. I'm sorry you are in so much pain and hope the surgeries help to correct the problem. Work hard at the rehabilitation; and I know you will do great. Just post when you can. I think I can speak for others that we will comment. Don't worry about us until you are better. Take good care - Mike

Les, I wish you well. I hope the surgeries go smoothly and the pain is minimal. Mostly I wish some peace and happiness. We all have these times in life and all we can do is ride them out. My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend.

@nicolecampbell Hi Nic - I just can't let well wishes go unanswered; thanks ever so much. It has been unbelievably hectic trying to prepare for being a bit incapacitated, and winterize the houses, etc. etc. But I am really glad to be having the thumb repaired; it's been tough to get along with. There are LOTS of positves about the surgery! and Elsie will love having me home, and inert! :-D See you, Les x

@mwarren365 Hey Mike, I hope it's never too late to say thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the picture, and your kind words really meant a lot when I read them, and still do. I'm now able to see all the positives and benefits of surgery, and it will be just fine. Thank you Mike Les x

@cath Better late than never, eh? :-D Thanks Cath for your well wishes. Everything is going to be just fine, and I've stopped going "wah wah". LOL There's just so much to be grateful for, and that's where I am now. Elsie will LOVE having me home (and inert!) And I think I will love being still for awhile too; I have an AWEsome pile of books to plow through! Be seeing you, Les x

@mjmaven Hiya Shirley - No, I haven't forgotten you; just needed some time to say a proper thank you. I appreciate your encourageent, and well wishes so much (especially since you have "been there.") And you are "spot on" about the PT; the Dr. says the harder I work, the more usage I will reclaim. Thanks for continuing to keep up with my "365", and I'll see you...........whenever :-D Les
