Say, Would You Like To Try Some??

Who wouldn't; it's my famous, authentic New England Gingerbread," Moist and flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Poeple swoon over it. :-) (View large and you'll see why.)
The "receipt" is as old as the hills, and took me years to weedle it out of my crusty, very old, Yankee neighbor. I haven't made it in a very long time, so it was a big occassion. And for it, I polished a piece of the family silver, and broke out the Royal Doulton - only the best for this rare treat. :-) Also I've never taken a "food shot" before, so I figured I'd try to show a defining feature - the rich color and moistness. (Also, this an SOOC macro, and the tines on the fork are very long and close together because it's a very old fork, not because of distortion.)
Yum!

Fantastic photo Les and especially as you have never taken a food shot before. I know how hard this is and you have done really well. Are you going to share the recipe? :)

mmm, I have been craving gingerbread for about a month! My mom usually makes it at Christmas and she didn't this year. Love the textures in this! Great shot!

I don't know how I missed this one, Les. But it looks and sound divine. Is this a real special "secret" recipe. My husband's mother had a secret recipe for butterscotch pie. She never shared that recipe with anyone before she died. What a shame. It was delicious.

@karenann I don't mind saying that THIS gingerbread "the livin' end." I'm glad to have it, and others. Funny how some of the most treasured things we can pass on down, are not "things" at all. :-) I like that. Take good care, Les x

@nicolecampbell Thanks for the great compliment; means a lot coming from someone who's food photos are sensational. :-) The recipe?? I'd share it with anyone; Mrs. Greene would be thrilled that it's being passed on. All my best, Les x
