I made a quick jaunt to the Scottish Highlands this week to visit a friend, and after much pleading and begging, she took me to Loch Ness. Instinctively, I knew where situate myself beside the vast, murky body of water. I KNEW I would see her; I felt it to my core. I hadn't long to wait before the lucid stillness of the water before me began to stir and ripple. The anticipation was both agonizing and exhilerating; perfect silence settled eerily upon the Loch. She surfaced in front of me as a graceful, enigmatic silhuoette. Lost in wonder and awe, I stood motionless, breathless, entranced. When I regained my sensibilites, with swift deftness, I aimed my camera at her just in time to take this single photo. And then, like a dream, she receded from view, descended into the dark waters, and became a surreal memory.
