Greetings! I'm from Connecticut (USA) Photography is one of my lifelong passions (others including gardening, woodworking, history, and being a part...
@girlie Hi Robin! I always plant late-growing Tomatoes. They are slow-growing, and need much tending, namely "suckering", and staking. The looong time it takes for them to grow makes them unparalled for sweetness, size, and robust flavor; my friends and neighbors always tell me so. Earlier varieties have none of that. They are worth the wait for sure. The downside is that they are very prone to different blights which take hold because they're growing so long, and, the days are shorter just when they lots of sun to ripen. It's always a coin toss as to whether I get a good crop. Sometimes I'm still picking in October. Last year, I picked none, zilch, zero. Harvest or none, I will always garden. It is one way I stay connected to the Earth, and it nourishes something within me. :D
(Just uploaded your Cleome today; hope to bring them to you soon.) Take very good care, Les x
Well, I found you for another tomatoes shot, and now I find this nice collage. Great idea of adding the coin for size reference. Thanks for the follow and your nice comments to my albums.
