I often lurk on the perimeter of my property, scuttling from bush to bush, concealing myself behind trees and waiting for random strangers to pass by so that I can leap out at them - ideally I'm hoping for one octave above middle C so that I can place an insurance claim for desperately needed new windows, but alas as yet I have had no luck, just a restraining order and a black eye (from a surprisingly vehement and feisty pensioner).
This is the "best" of my Night Shots for the ONS challenge. Not overly happy with it, it would seem that I need to hone my night time photography "skills", mind you this is my first attempt at night photography.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Wouldn't work in Texas...our pensioners carry concealed hand guns....;~) Love the photo...and a great first night shot...I use a pen light on shorter exposure night shots to highlight small areas (and to hide it from view)...also found playing with different levels of flash on long exposure (1+ second) also produces multiple layers of light tones. With your studio expertise you will have a blast playing with those!
I like it just enough light to get the details of you lurking.....I bet your neighbours wonder what on earth is going on next door. Flames and folk lurking in the dark, I bet you're the topic of conversation over many a breakfast! ;-)
@georgiat Thank you very much, with feet like mine I'm bound to be hobbit! @andrewkru Thank you very much @bigugly Thanks very much...I think ;) @scolgs Thank you very much @voiceprintz Point taken, maybe I should stop leaping out at them... @tasian Thanks and duly noted, appreciated as always @wearing0 Thank you, I think our neighbours are deeply concerned at this point in the project but there have been no police cal outs yet.
@graemestevens added you to my follow list, I thought even if I don't like the photos I'll more than likely get a smile reading the accompanying text :)
That is superbly creepy, glad you don't live near me! Fabulous lighting, just illuminates your face enough to set an eery mood. Wonderful use of the (almost) negative space.
@archielogical thank you very much! @johenn thanks very much @golftragic thanks very much, I'm reasonably certain that most of my neighbours would be glad not to live near me too! @orangecrush thanks, much appreciated
Fabulous in so many ways. My dad, walking home one day, noticed a silver Subaru coming down the road. Thinking it was me, he thought he'd play Chaplin or something and dove into the bushes, peeking out as the car drove past. The driver, who was, in fact, not me, was a bit taken aback. Your commentary reminds me of this.
The photo, however, is delicously creepy. Super.
@graemestevens Good to be among like minds. We've outfitted Gary Larson's "Beware of Doug" to his "Beware of Dad" moments. Sounds like your own daughter understands as well :)
@graemestevens Good for them! At least photography can be used as an excuse or at least as an aider and abetter. It's the unrelated shenanigans that get us in trouble.
@oxley63 thank you very much
Perfectly moody night image!
