Going Nowhere by graemestevens

Going Nowhere

I had to go out to see a client this morning in Urenui, who just happens to run a brewery. On the way out there I had an "I wonder what's up that road?" moment and found that this car is in dire need of a service and possibly some new tires before it's roadworthy again. I was delayed by a herd of cattle being moved but got talking to one of the farmers (who also happens to own greyhounds) and was told that on this particular road there are many more wrecks and photo opportunities. As we were standing on the side of the very narrow country road another vehicle pulled up which was being driven by an old work colleague of mine that I haven't spoken to for about 15 or 16 years. It's a small world.
Cool capture.nature is remarkably resilient.Thats quite a take-over.

Sam
I think that is how and why everybody in NZ is related somehow. They bump into each other in more ways than one.....then all of a sudden there is a population of 4 million, many of them with 2 heads. Oh, lovely rusty subject too! I bet it has a few stories to tell.....if only it wasn't strangled by the weeds.

love the story - and the vehicle - make sure the tires are suitable :)

@peter_1966 thanks very much
@gigiflower Really? From a convict Australian? I've noticed how most of the main Australian cities are near the coast, just waiting for the next ship to pass and take you somewhere nice...to be fair though, there's a hell of a lot of Kiwis in Australia these days. I think it improves the intelligence of both countries. ;) also, thanks very much!
@annied thanks very much - they be lucky and have something left to put the tires on!
@trishaclancy Thanks so much, really appreciated
@livvy thanks very much...I think the first thing to do would be getting the lawn mower up there
@chippy1402 One of my old cars was heading that way - had I known 20 years ago what a good photo opportunity it would be I might have kept it!
@roseolivia thanks very much, much appreciated!

@dougapic Thanks very much
June 19th, 2014
it's amazing how it's become part of the landscape - and makes me ponder on ten or twenty years down the line how much will be visible and how much more of it will be broken down and really part of the landscape - nice capture.....
