Not to be confused with Photography

We went for a walk into the Kaitake Ranges today, which form part of the foothills of Mount Taranaki, to see the old Boars Head Mine where a failed attempt at gold mining had been undertaken in the past. It was excessively windy and cold and mostly vertical. My camera was not talking to me, and I was not talking to my camera either it would seem, so have some cows. It was the only salvageable shot from the day.
As an aside, to all vegetarians...Ha ha, my food eats your food.
Think what you want Graeme! I love thos shot! Ypu found a way to create something interesting for me! Fav

@daneau Thank you so much - I was dangerously close to deleting this and putting up a filler, so it really is appreciated!!!
July 8th, 2014
@graemestevens Your are good! Don't worry with your choice. Your choice is good. Maybe not for all but for some, and I one of them.
July 8th, 2014
I lik it, it has a feel of cow voyeurism to it....
July 8th, 2014
Ha! I like it. I have had some days where my old shot or two are so bad I almost don't post. This is still every nice!
July 8th, 2014
@gigiflower look forward to your response
July 8th, 2014
What did your camera do? Or what did you do to stop it talking to you? The grown up thing is to say sorry and forgive each other then you can be friends again. Seriously though... Even on bad days you still can get something. I'm drawn to all those cows... Perhaps I'm just thinking of all the burgers they might make....
July 8th, 2014
What a surprise. I think you're a softy at heart. Then I think don't be daft you're thinking a load of old bull! I can't wait to see what @gigiflower makes of it either!
July 8th, 2014
I like it
July 8th, 2014
Has it all Graeme, cows , green rolling hills, fences. Nice pano :-)
July 8th, 2014
Walk softly - don't want a stampede! Thank you for the Cows! Great shot!
July 8th, 2014
@nookie72 thanks...not that I spend a lot of time engaging in cow voyeurism...
@jess1204 thank you very much
@newbank I just couldn't get it together today, I have no idea why. And I must say that @gigiflower has been suspiciously quiet of late. Deeply concerned and slightly paranoid. At least when she's commenting I know where she is...
@ceilidh Shocking isn't it.
@wearing0 thank you very much. The second from the left was delicious.
@hermann Thanks very much - makes me feel in need of a BBQ...
@creativefool Thanks, glad you like it :)

@newbank @ceilidh @graemestevens Ok folks, I'm back. I've just spent the last 2 hours catching up on everybody's photos and commenting. I have left yours to last Mr Stevens. I like to wear cow leather. I don't like to eat cow meat. These cows are very pretty, some with nice colouring. However I agree that Mr Stevens could not get it together today - it's not his usual inspiration of fire and mayhem, or even him being semi nude posing with wooden implements. So out of 10......I score this one a 2.
July 8th, 2014
i love cows - judge away hahahahaha
July 8th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower 2 is a bit harsh.I like how you are drawn right into the thick of it. I would get 7. Nowt wrong with bad days mr stevens. We all have them in all forms of life. I have many days when I stare and stare and stare at my fridge hoping inspiration will jump out of it for what to feed my three men that a) doesn't take long. b) may be prepared with a child on hip if total melt down ensues. c) If melt down doesn't ensue uses least no of pans so least chance of youngest deciding to help and burn himself. d) is vaguely filled with nutrition e) is not spaghetti and fish fingers again... anyway...lost the point of this now...

@newbank 7? Really, a 7? WOW you are such a kind lady Ms Newbank Lass. I will raise you to 2.5. But I can't go to 3, because 3 is my favourite number and this is not my favourite photo. I deconstructed my 2 and came up with the following: 1 for pretty cows and 1 for being a bit different for Mr Stevens. If he had been in the nude of it, and/or set fire to the rolling hills (not the cow), then he could have maybe got to an 8..............but anything else.......well, now you are just being silly!
July 8th, 2014
@gigiflower Why is three your favourite no?Not sure I have one... Red is my favourite colour and chocolate my favourite food and Autumn my favourite season....
July 8th, 2014
Sam
@newbank 3 is my favourite number because that is my birthday number! Green is my favourite colour and peanut butter (smooth) is my favourite food. Oh and my favourite season is Autumn too but that's also because my birthday is in Autumn. And it's all about me!
July 8th, 2014
@gigiflower Are you your favourite person?
July 8th, 2014
Sam
@newbank Well of course!!!! I love my own company :)
July 8th, 2014
@gigiflower At least you'd be happy stuck in a life by yourself.... unless you hate lifts like me....my worst fear...
July 8th, 2014
@newbank errr.... that was meant to be LIFT
July 8th, 2014
Mr Stevens you appear to have had your project hijacked....apologies of the deepest sort.
July 8th, 2014
Sam
@newbank Mmm, I'm not overly keen on lifts but I am very keen on LIFE! hehehe. No apologies from me Mr Stevens, because Newbank Lass started it!!!!
July 8th, 2014
I don't know what it is about cows, they freak me out from the way they stare at you but equally can't stop looking at them!! Cool shot
July 8th, 2014
@roseolivia thanks very much - they do tend to just stare. Quite rude really.
@annied I love the way they taste. And it would seem that the two lunatics have been judging.
@gigiflower @newbank Firstly, I never accept apologies as I much prefer to bear a grudge. At least I would if you two weren't so hilariously unbalanced and grammatically challenged. Secondly, I already know this shot is a piece of dung, so you've wasted only your own time. Thirdly, judge away - my project, my photos, my choice...having said that, now that I know marks out of 10 are to be awarded you may have done yourself a disservice. Based on what I can see of your critiquing method it would seem that I need to spend the day going through your previous photos and replacing any comments with the numbers 1 - 3 depending solely on what mood swing I'm currently suffering from. Finally, @gigflower, of course you love your own company. Who else would? ;)
July 8th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower your comments Mr Stevens are making me behaviour in an unload like way....
July 8th, 2014
Lady like stupid phone
July 8th, 2014
@graemestevens @newbank @gigiflower I just had to tell you three you were my entertainment this morning. I always start the day scrolling through photos and threads on my iPad, before commenting later on my computer when it's easier. I was laughing out loud this morning as I went between this thread and the one on Ruth's or Sam's page -- can't remember which. Graeme, your response to the two is as funny as can be! So thank all!
July 8th, 2014
@newbank LOL, can you count to potato? The things that my iPad has tried to correct for me...potentially very embarrassing but I think I know what you're trying to say....
@taffy @newbank @gigiflower maybe we should get together and do a stand up show...they're lovely ladies really. Maybe. Possibly.
July 9th, 2014
@newbank @gigiflower @graemestevens I am lost for words - which doesn't happen often - it is because I keep laughing though - thank you so much for starting my day with such crazy hilarity - I give you a shared 10 out of 10 - you can fight amongst yourselves how the points divvy up
July 9th, 2014
@graemestevens Mooooving tale Graeme. Is your camera behaving now?
July 9th, 2014
lol as a vegetarian I appreciate the joke
July 9th, 2014
Sam
@newbank @graemestevens @taffy @annied I was too frightened too look at the stream of comments on Mr Steven's project as I knew he was going to be scathing........however I am quite delighted that we have made people laugh as this is very important in life. I promise that I won't hijack Mr Stevens page again (unless of course Ms Newbank Lass starts it!!) and I will try to behave better in class. I might even write that 365 times just so I (pretend) to learn it. Apologies if I have offended anybody in the slightest.......never again!
July 9th, 2014
@gigiflower hahahaha oh don't you dare think of behaving - what would be the fun of life without some mischief - particular at the expense of others ;-P
July 9th, 2014
Sam
@annied RIGHT ON Annie............and I'm just lucky that Mr Stevens lives somewhere in NZ.........miles away :)
July 9th, 2014
@gigiflower not that far - I'd look over your shoulder occasionally hahaha
July 9th, 2014
Sam
@annied I'd be looking for a crazy half nude man with warrior painting, setting fire to objects and cutting up teddy bears. Yes you are right.....I should be afraid ;)
July 9th, 2014
@golftragic yes, after today I believe so
@hippiechick13 LOL, I'm pleased someone did ;)
@gigiflower You should be very afraid, but never apologise - it was nice to wake up to a good laugh. And if it comforts you I was in bed, naked, with a teddy bear at the time...
@annied It's the insanity that offends my delicately balanced mind...
July 9th, 2014
@graemestevens who are you trying to kid - it is the insanity that keeps the mind balanced
July 9th, 2014
@annied you raise a valid point and one that I've lived by for a long time
July 9th, 2014
@graemestevens ha ha I know my sh*T :)
July 9th, 2014
@graemestevens I know a lot of sh*T too lol
July 9th, 2014
@annied no wonder we talk to each other then!
July 9th, 2014

July 10th, 2014
@ceilidh @ceilidh @graemestevens I just read your comments ( Sam and Margaret) along with Graeme's description of his photo and I can no longer comment because I am laughing too hard!!
July 11th, 2014
@harbie Don't encourage them!!! :))
July 11th, 2014
Love this.....so familiar to me.......love the letterbox style & the cows all together in the valley. My granddaughter would be in her element here......never happier than milking cows!!
