The Perfect Gentleman and his Dirty Little Temper by graemestevens

The Perfect Gentleman and his Dirty Little Temper

This is for the Fiveplustwo-passion challenge. Shockingly enough I chose Anger, although I'm not sure it fits the brief.
It may come as a surprise but I do have a tiny little bit of a temper, and he's a nasty, sneaky, dirty fighting little beggar too. I can deal with the big stuff without too much stress but god help the civilized world and all it stands for if I drop a tea spoon while doing the dishes (yes, I do the dishes...). It should be noted that I do not drink tea from that particular cup but I do often carry a knife. I should wear glasses for reading but seldom (never) do. The chair cost $5. I ramble.
Guess what it's best viewed against?
Your ghost scares me to death !
August 12th, 2014
Now THAT's a knife!
August 12th, 2014
Great shot and great story. Well done!
August 12th, 2014
Sam
I think if you did drink tea from that very pretty cup, you wouldn't be so angry.
August 12th, 2014
Fantastic double exposure! Excellent against black, of course. And, I can't help myself, there is something I'm drawn to, in a way that I'm not too comfortable with. Well done! Fav!
August 12th, 2014
@cocobella I shall take that as a compliment :) Thanks very much.
@northy It's my baby...
@thomastoth Thanks very much indeed :)
@gigiflower I don't think the cup would help much at all...it has too many flowers on it.
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much - am I starting to get to you? ;)
August 12th, 2014
@graemestevens um...yeah.
August 12th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens That's my point! Flowers = less anger :) Just try it!
August 12th, 2014
Love this! :) You are a delightedly sick twist. I like that about you. Have you noticed I emphasize that theme a great deal? I don't say that to just anyone!
August 12th, 2014
@eyeamlisa Excellent. Happy days all round then.
@gigiflower No. That's also it. :)
@voiceprintz I'm flattered, and I mean that from the heart of my bottom. Thank you so much :)
August 12th, 2014
Really find this eerie -- exactly the effect you'd wanted, I suspect!
August 12th, 2014
@taffy Pretty much what i was after - thanks very much. really quite happy with today's efforts. It may be making a trip to Photography Club.
August 12th, 2014
This is brilliant Graeme. I love the way your baby is stuck in the floor. I did guess right away what is best viewed against! ;-) I honestly didn't notice your ghost until I viewed it that way. Big Fav.
August 12th, 2014
@bill_fe Thanks very much. I'm not sure that Mrs. S is going to like where my baby is stuck, so if we could just stay a bit quiet about that...
August 12th, 2014
This is amazing! Creepy and just so cool!fav
August 12th, 2014
@mzzhope Thanks very much, always appreciated :)
August 12th, 2014
This sparks my imagination! I can imagine 'angry you' swiping that dainty teacup and making it shatter into a zillion little pieces. Which of course might make you angrier....Love it. And isn't it true, what you said, about the little things agitating much more than the big things?? I totally agree.
August 12th, 2014
@tabarlett Thanks very much - much appreciated. And yes, it's always the small pointless things that get me...
August 12th, 2014
Your creativity and imagination amaze me!
August 12th, 2014
@aecasey Thanks very much :)
August 12th, 2014
interesting.very creative
August 12th, 2014
Love the narrative and dark, dark image, but what I really love is that cool lounge chair, is it Jacobean and wow, only $5 :-))
August 12th, 2014
@originalintentionstudios Thanks very much
@hermann Thanks very much - it's a 1930's (?) "Club Chair". I got it from the local Hospice Shop a couple of weeks ago, we'll get it recovered eventually.

Lou
It's awfully reminiscent of The Tell-Tale Heart. Raving madness beneath a gentlemanly character. Fav.
What are you reading?
August 12th, 2014
Your creativity and imagination amaze me! fav
August 12th, 2014
What the heck it this! Super fav, bringing it to a new level. Just love this so much.
August 12th, 2014
What a wonderfully fraught shot Graeme, you and your temper both. Crocodile Dundee would be proud of you! Remind me to keep my kevlar vest handy.
August 12th, 2014
a really interesting shot, that keeps me entertained, love your attention to detail.
August 12th, 2014
Brilliant story telling in this. That very white tea cup is perfect for distraction and adds something of normality to a very odd scene.
August 12th, 2014
fab, well thought out, clever shot!
August 12th, 2014
Just fabulous.
August 12th, 2014
Always original, creative... and slightly macabre :)
August 12th, 2014
very clever composition - the cup makes the double image appear even less threatening - and that knife is quite something
August 12th, 2014
Great shot - delicate cup and saucer - very cleverly done.
August 12th, 2014
@louuncouth Thanks very much. I've just finished Stephen Kings Dark Tower series and started Jonathan Norrell & Mr Strange by Susanna Clark.
@rustymonkey Thank you very much indeed. This one is going to Camera Club.
@jess1204 Thank you so much, always appreciated :)
@golftragic LOL, thanks very much :)
@andrewkru Thanks very much indeed
@chippy1402 Thanks very much - our house seems to have its fair share of odd scenes...not quite sure why.
@jaynspain Thanks so much :)
@newbank Thank you kindly, as always. :)
@tomtom Thanks very much - this one is going to Camera Club next week. Publish and be damned!!!
@shannejw Thanks very much. The knife is affectionately known as my "baby"...
@dide Thank you very much indeed :)
August 12th, 2014
Please do report back from camera club.
August 12th, 2014
@newbank You betcha. Should be interesting - we submit next week and then have to wait another 2 weeks for critique. I'm sure I'll feel my ears burning!
August 12th, 2014
Shiver down the spine time again! Love, or more likely hate, how I keep looking down to the knife!
August 12th, 2014
Only your ears? I'm sure if it'd help we could find a way to get your groupies to turn up? @gigiflower @annied anyone else?
August 12th, 2014
@ceilidh Sorry about that...or am I? ;)
@newbank Probably more than my ears...you should all come along, that might make them think twice!
August 12th, 2014
Love it! So wel composed and the b&w works so well! Excellentshot for the theme!
August 12th, 2014
@nicoleterheide Thank yo so much, very much appreciated :)
August 12th, 2014
At first sight this looked so innocent. Then I noticed the knife - then the ghost. I love the story this tells. Fav
August 12th, 2014
you have a big shoe - fav!
this is awesome - Mr Hyde and Mr Hyde hahahaha oh sorry - Dr Jekyll :)
August 12th, 2014
@dh Thank you very much indeed...I would have thought you'd know by now that it's never entirely innocent ;)
August 12th, 2014
@annied The lovely and inimitable Mrs. S gets somewhat irked when I leave my "clod hoppers" lying around the house...and thanks awfully for the fav, always appreciated :)
August 12th, 2014
@graemestevens oh I would surely trip over them - my daughter has a habit of dropping shoes about the place which I manage to trip over - I maintain she is trying to kill me lol
August 12th, 2014
haha, I nearly be fooled by the gentleman look until I see the knife.
August 12th, 2014
@annied I couldn't possibly comment...when I get home they're the first thing to come off though. Hate them, especially these ones as they had steel caps.
@yaorenliu That was the general idea :)
August 12th, 2014
Wonderful contrast between between good and evil love this fav
August 12th, 2014
@tracelee Thank you again, very much and also appreciated :)

August 12th, 2014
NIce shot.
August 12th, 2014
Very creative. I was checking it out thinking kind of mild for you , then I saw the knife. Lol great one
August 12th, 2014
I thought something awful had happened when I first saw this shot, then I spotted the knife. Phew all as it should be!
August 12th, 2014

August 12th, 2014
Ooh! Very Sherlock Holmes! (Ive been reading my way through him for a few weeks now.)
August 12th, 2014
@tabbycat Love Sherlock Holmes, very cool and thank you!
August 12th, 2014
You have that knife tip placed exactly in the join of the floor boards so think you might get away with it this time! That delicate tea cup looks completely alien in your angry world! You make a great ghost though!
August 12th, 2014
Brilliant .....you continue to impress ....
August 12th, 2014
Magnificent, Jeckyll & Hyde-ish
August 12th, 2014
@happypat Yes well, I didn't want to ruin our beautiful rimu floors...and thanks very much :)
@tellefella Thank you very much, always appreciated
@wenbow Thanks very much - I'll take the Hyde part if I may :)
August 13th, 2014
I really love this! I think it depicts everyone a little bit...there's the outer you and the you that you try to keep under control! I love how the outer you looks so prim and proper and the anger so eerie looking! Great effect! FAV
August 13th, 2014
@harbie Thank you so much :)
August 13th, 2014
Love your story telling shots. I so focused on the knife and the cool character in the chair that I missed the ghost until I read the comments and went back up and looked. Perhaps more creepy, eerie without the ghost for my taste, but understand he was necessary for the theme - well done on creating said ghost.
August 13th, 2014
@johenn Thank you very much
August 13th, 2014
Wow ....very odd ...I have viewed this image many times..... I get lost in all the mysteries! But I just realized this time I had not commented.... so there you go =classy maniacal film noir = awesome! :)
August 13th, 2014
@creativefool LOL, thank you very much
August 13th, 2014
