Cows Ahead. Chances of Redneckery: High

It has been a long day in my corporate world. The sort of day when I've done nothing but put out fires started by other people. Had I been carrying a fire extinguisher the odds could have swung either way as to whether I would use it to put out a fire or make an amusing 'Kwoingngngngng' noise as I hit someone over the head with it.
On the bright side, I did force myself to take some down time and get some photos - somedays you have to remind yourself that you are entitled to a break, even if it is breaking someone else's spirit.
Best viewed on black.
Sorry you had a stressful day. Love the drama of this scene.

October 14th, 2014
ah...high chances of redneckery! :) My kinda place!
October 14th, 2014
You also sound as if you are aware that there is another life out there besides employment! AND....that in the darkening light on this road, there just might be a cow in the road!
October 14th, 2014
would you look at that on black. that popping yellow sign. i'm sure tomorrow will be marginally better...
October 14th, 2014

Sam
Sounds like you and I are both struggling with the corporate world this week. I had a better day today because I didn't go into the office HAHAH
October 14th, 2014
Cool use of selective colour - sounds like work as usual!
October 14th, 2014
I sometimes have days like that at work too, especially in summer :)
And it is nice to have a break sometimes.
October 14th, 2014
So great and very effective SC
October 14th, 2014
oh I do apologise for taking so long to travel this road - my fiddling with lensbaby and my frazzled brain are to blame - the distractions and side-tracking are worse than usual
hmmmm I must admit I love driving along roads like this but I do have my doors locked, windows only slightly down and weapon at the ready
October 14th, 2014
Love that hint of sc, brilliant!
October 14th, 2014
@newbank Goodness.
@chippy1402 Thanks very much, I like a good curve
@andrewkru Thanks very much...mmmmm, cake
@gigiflower I didn't go into the office either, it still sucked.
@dide Thanks very much, and yes, very much so
@karlow75 It is - sometimes it's wiser to just walk away
@susale Thanks very much
@annied Always, always travel with a weapon.
@roseolivia Thanks very much :)
October 14th, 2014
I love this, looks like a road you want to get lost down, your apprehensive about it but still the temptation is there to see whats around the corner!
October 14th, 2014
That is NZ. we shall road with sheeps and cows, and times off t works.
October 14th, 2014
Goodness whaty?
October 14th, 2014
Love this. Like the SC and the way the road leads you eye on into the distance
October 14th, 2014
Sue
Great shot, love the twisty road and your comments!
October 14th, 2014
Sounds like another fun day at the office. Nice perspective as the road disappears off the mountain :)
October 14th, 2014
Excellent shot. Love redneckery!
October 14th, 2014
Very shuttle, yet effective sc. Also, great advise! In my box at work, I having a little wrapper from a Dove chocolate candy that says "don't forget to make time for yourself" I always take a break after I read it. ;-)
October 14th, 2014
Kind of how I felt about my students yesterday - like I was trying to nail jello to the wall! Great ominous photo - I like how the cow sign is tilted ever so slightly. It creates a bit of uncertainty . . .
October 14th, 2014
@graemestevens sometimes my driving and/or my face are weapon enough hahahaha
October 14th, 2014
@graemestevens P.S I don't think the cows would like that road
October 14th, 2014
super shot the road just leads you right in even making me lean to the right
October 14th, 2014
Awesome SC! Love your title!
October 14th, 2014
only in nz
October 14th, 2014
Cool use of sc - lovely details in those trees. Super ambience too.
October 14th, 2014
Great shot, and love the title.
October 14th, 2014
So what your saying is you want a fire extinguisher for such circumstances.
October 14th, 2014
Lovely curves and lines... I hear banjos! :)
October 14th, 2014
Nce leading line in the road! Glad you took the time :)
October 14th, 2014
Like that winding road and pop of colour.
October 14th, 2014
@amyleewinfield Thanks very much. Knowing where this road is d be more than apprehensive... ;)
@yaorenliu You're not wrong :)
@newbank Do you know, I have absolutely no idea why I said that.
@thistle Thank you very much
@sioux Thanks very much indeed
@hermann Thanks very much - no more fun than usual
@kt8ird Thanks very much - I love it to...from a safe distance...
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much...you have chocolate? I'm on my way!
@juliedduncan Thank you very much :)
@annied I find that hard to believe...they let you drive?
@denisefuller Thanks very much :)
@anazad511 Thank you kindly :)

@lynnilou Thank you very much
@ukandie1 Thanks very much, appreciated
@spikez Yes please :)
@rosiekerr Thanks - I believe there were banjo plucking pluckers hiding in the trees
@lisatown Thanks very much :)
October 14th, 2014
@andy3168 Thanks very much, always appreciated :)
October 14th, 2014
Fair enoughy..... Okay bored of this now. Good evening. Is it morning with you?
October 14th, 2014
Love the spot of colour
October 14th, 2014
Funny I was looking for the actual cows......sounds are trying day.....perhaps it was your own fire breathing breath causing the fires!
October 14th, 2014
@newbank It's morning - another day another dollar and all that...sigh
@ounooi Thanks very much
@happypat I could well have been my fault but I have chosen to deny all knowledge. It's what we do in the corporate world ;)
October 14th, 2014
Poor old you , I feel (something) on your behalf! Have you just realised you are entitled to a break. Maybe if you added up all the ones you've missed you could retire early!
October 14th, 2014
@ceilidh LOL, I know - the never ending trials and tribulations of poor Mr. Stevens.
October 14th, 2014
Love the clouds in this. Does look great on black
October 14th, 2014
So true, I have been going, going, going. Love the moodiness.
October 14th, 2014
@rachelwithey Thanks very much
@jess1204 Thank you very much - there's always time for a break. Theoretically
October 14th, 2014
Love the clouds and the curve of the road!
October 15th, 2014
@graemestevens no, I ate the chocolate. I just have the wrapper. I am pretty sure they sell chocolate in New Zealand. Might be easier than making the trek to Michigan. :-)
October 15th, 2014
@harbie Thanks very much
@eyeamlisa They do indeed...I love the stuff. It's my kryptonite
October 15th, 2014
@greamestevens I have chocolate everyday. It's my vitamin. ;-)
October 15th, 2014
I love the selective color here. Love. It. But I am wondering about the cows. Are they flying cows? Cause it looks like a mountain on one side and a cliff on the other.....
October 15th, 2014
@eyeamlisa I don't blame you, it's my favourite food group!
@tabarlett Thanks very much...it's a sign we have over here to tell us cows may or may not be on the road, in the hills, climbing the trees...we have a lot of cows...
October 15th, 2014
Nice use of SC.....probably don't have as many cows wondering the streets of NZ as they do in India! As for taking breaks the more the better; it's better to break their spirits than their necks!
October 15th, 2014
@panthora Thanks very much and yes, you're quite right
October 15th, 2014
Such a looming and atmospheric capture Graeme, nicely captured! x
October 15th, 2014
@lilminimonka Thank you kindly :)
October 15th, 2014
Hilarity...high:).
October 15th, 2014
@amandal Excellent ;)
October 15th, 2014
@graemestevens only when I am not drinking - so not often HA!
October 16th, 2014
Only 2 fav?! I just love this one, very atmospheric and great leading line (escape route).
October 16th, 2014
@overalvandaan Definitely an escape route - and thank you very much
