6.32am by graemestevens

6.32am

It was a bit foggy at 5.30 this morning when I was walking the dogs, so I guess technically we could have been called 'Growlers in the Mist'...anyway, moving swiftly on. This was the view from the garden this morning at 6.32am. It's difficult to have to look at this all the time.
Looks so cool!
October 14th, 2014
That line of mist seems to make your mountain float on air Graeme......even the electric lines add to this photo...You are very near...hope it never erupts!! I like Growlers in the mist...suits you...I wonder if your dog has the same temperament as you?
October 14th, 2014
A beautiful blue view from the garden..love the mist!
October 14th, 2014
What a gorgeous view you have! Great shot!
October 14th, 2014

October 15th, 2014

Sam
Now I truly understand why you don't like going into the office. It's not the people......it's because of this view. 1 million FAVs Mr Stevens. It's glorious. Just like you..........and me :)

October 15th, 2014

October 15th, 2014
Poor thing, you! Great, crisp shot!
October 15th, 2014
That is a phenomenal mountain. You look at that every day?! Crazy beautiful.
October 15th, 2014
geeeez! sure does suck to be you! personally, i'd be lobbying to have someone remove the hydro poles... much easier to get the city to do it once and have it over and done with, rather than having to mess about in photoshop each time ;p lovely capture of that misty morning!
October 15th, 2014
Wow, with a view like that, I would never get to work.
October 15th, 2014
Fab shot, Graeme! :) I'm with others. It really does suck to be you and have to see this every morning (or some variation of natural awesomeness!)

@northy You mean there isn't a preset in photoshop that would take the power lines out as a matter of routine? I'm shocked. *groan* excuse the pun...it just slipped out. I swear!
October 15th, 2014
@voiceprintz bahaaaaa! well, there's always the "content aware" thingy... but i never manage to get that to work properly ;p
October 15th, 2014
Tough job, but someone has to do and you are just the person... lucky you, to see this mountain every day. Love the fog (or whatever), spreading across the base.
October 15th, 2014
I have to say I am jealous of your view! Just beautiful!
October 15th, 2014
Oh wow fancy having to put up with that view all the time!!!! I absolutely LOVE NZ, we have been there 3 times now and I so want to go back. I even said to hubby I want to move there. Brilliant crisp clear photo with such breath-taking views :-)
October 15th, 2014
So beautiful.i love the light
October 15th, 2014
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much :)
@epcello Thanks very much...some days we get to see it, most days it's hidden behind it's cloud bank!
@northy I know, I know, it's just awful. And for your reference I put those pylons in the shot in Photoshop. I just couldn't bear the beauty so I thought I need some sign human contamination ;)
@888rachel Somedays I don't ;)
@voiceprintz Thanks very much, it's a horrible view. Almost as bad as that pun ;)
@rosiekerr Thanks very much - it looks different everyday. Right now I can't even see it because, as with most days, the clouds have rolled on in...
@tabarlett Thank you very much :)
@leanne333 With an attitude like that I'm sure we'd let you back in to the country ;) And thank you very much :)
@mzzhope Thank you most kindly nice lady :)
October 15th, 2014
That is rather stunning, lovely and crisp.Fav :)
October 15th, 2014
@hermann Thank you very much indeed :)
October 15th, 2014
You're right - it must be tough living with a view like this! Fantastic shot.
October 15th, 2014
@dide Thanks very much...it sucks to be me ;)
October 15th, 2014
Wow! That's a helluva view! Nicely captured! The low clouds really make the scene!
October 15th, 2014
I thought I recognised that mountain! I grew up in Wanganui. What a fab view to get up for :-)
October 15th, 2014
You couldn't have asked for a better place for the mist/cloud to be! Wonderful scene
October 15th, 2014
Yeah, life must be tough at your part of the woods!! Fabulous shot, and amazing view, btw.....I am faving it for the misty mountain! :-))
October 15th, 2014
Another great shot!
October 15th, 2014
Nice separation of mountain and foreground with the mist.
October 15th, 2014
Oh my, what a view & that mist looks fantastic! What a place you live in!
October 15th, 2014
wow! stunning!
October 15th, 2014
@andrewkru Thanks very much
@susale Thanks very much, horrific isn't it...
@chippy1402 Thanks, took me ages to get the smoke machine going...
@motherjane Thank you kindly :)
@panthora Thanks very much, nothing wrong with a misty mountain...
@dibzgreasley Thanks very much indeed
@tracie8266 Thanks very much...at least you had the sense to leave Wanganui ;)
@lisatown Thanks very much, it's hard work looking at it...
October 15th, 2014
@graemestevens Quite horrible, don´t undestand how you can take it....
October 15th, 2014
@susale I'm considering poking my eyes out
October 15th, 2014
@graemestevens Yes that´s what I would do too....or them you could just simply move....
October 15th, 2014
@susale Moving is too much effort ;)
October 15th, 2014
Sympathy ooooozzzzzziiiinnngggg out of all my pores at this hardship you brave so bravely for all humanity.
October 15th, 2014
@graemestevens True...yeah poking your eyes out is far more easy way and quite worth the effort, it´s a horrendous sight after all.....maybe you could even make a pic out of it ;)
October 15th, 2014
@newbank I thank you for being so understanding!
@susale I would have thought that I would ;)
October 15th, 2014
well, you certainly nailed this composition. very nice
October 15th, 2014
@brigette Thanks very much but it was just there when I woke up...
October 15th, 2014
I am definitely with @northy you should lobby to get rid of those poles once and for all. Love your shot, love the colour. Fav.
October 15th, 2014
Beautiful capture! And nothing beats a growler in the mist, as long as you're walking, of course. Fav
October 15th, 2014
Wow, you really do have some of the nicest views, lovely shot!
October 15th, 2014
Ahh another great shot of my favourite mountain..
October 15th, 2014
fabulous shot Graeme...
October 15th, 2014
what a rather pleasant view you have
October 15th, 2014
Well it beats being surrounded by a 3 metre high maize crop I suppose ;-) Easy Fav Graeme... and even a view like this wouldn't get me out of bed at 5.30am!
October 15th, 2014
Pam
Wow! What a view! Gorgeous!
October 15th, 2014

October 15th, 2014
Oh, and it's a fav! Just because! :)
October 15th, 2014
nice view. and love the low cloud
October 15th, 2014
Fabulous capture :o)
October 15th, 2014
@lwain They'll be gone soon enough. They've been redundant for about 2 years now and a r due to come down sometime in the next 6 months! And thank you very much
@kevin365 Thanks very much - I'm quite partial to a good growler
@lilminimonka It's sickening isn't it? And thank you very much
@kiwiellen Thank you kindly :)
@tellefella Thanks very much indeed
@annied It is quite awful isn't it?
@vignouse Thanks very much - if it wasn't for the two greyhounds I'd sleep the day away and miss this...
@pammerritt Thanks very much :)
@skipt07 Thank you very much :)
@roseolivia It makes me sick...but thank you very much anyway ;)
@andy3168 Thanks very much, appreciated

October 15th, 2014
Fab image
October 16th, 2014
@scolgs Thanks very much
October 16th, 2014
what a beautiful locale.
October 16th, 2014
@graemestevens I don't know how you bear it - shocking - I would much prefer to look out on a tarred road and the houses on the other side phhhhhttttt!
October 16th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower you two are having a wonderful self adulation moment HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - you really are both just glorious!!!!!!
October 16th, 2014
@blueberry1222 It is indeed...very peaceful too
@annied It's a daily trial, and yes, I am glorious. Not so sure about @gigiflower though
October 16th, 2014
@graemestevens I am sure @gigiflower will self adulate as soon as she is able
October 16th, 2014
@annied @gigiflower As am I - she's full of self adulation
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied I think it is rude that my work has gotten in the way of responding to comments today. I think I shall resign and then have the available time to devote to you both and my own SELF ADULATION.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens it is indeed rude of work to interfere
October 16th, 2014
My heart bleeds for you having to suffer this view. I really like the juxtaposition of the power lines and natural beauty.
October 16th, 2014
Fantastic and a Fav
October 16th, 2014
@golftragic It's hard work everyday - and thanks very much :)
@tonygig Thank you kindly :)
@gigiflower @annied Very rude indeed. In fact, I think we should form a "no work" club (while still demanding to be paid appropriately) so that we can sit around all day basking in our glory.
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied That is by far the smartest idea ANYBODY has ever come up with. I think we should call up our respective Prime Ministers and demand this be passed as a law immediately. Then we can bask. Bask all day. Calling each other duckers. Smart duckers.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower I'm not going to bother with involving politicians. I'm. Just going to do it because I live life on the edge.
October 16th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower brilliant concept - yes no need for politicians - just some heavy artillery and maybe some hired hitmen to dispose of those we do not have time to dispose of ourselves
October 16th, 2014
@annied @gigiflower You can hire me if you like
October 16th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower I feel you would be rather expensive but worth every penny
October 16th, 2014
@annied @gigiflower I'm cheap, nasty and damn good
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@annied @graemestevens I will provide the bazooka's. I have 3 of them under my bed.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @annied I'm almost certain that just because something under your bed is long and cylindrical it is not automatically a bazooka.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens HAHAHAHAHA oh Graeme I am rather partial to cheap and nasty - I find things that are are often damn good
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied Mmm it may the reason I've ended up in hospital when using them.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @annied LMAO...the mental image is hilarious
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens HAHAHAHAHAHA the mental image is scary!
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied Slightly arousing I know ;)
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens I feel the gutter is close - I will watch my step lol
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @annied about as arousing as shoving a piece of barbed wire up ones bottom I would think.
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@annied @graemestevens Oh yes, I've been to the hospital for that issue as well.
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @annied me too. They found a hamster as well. Who knew?
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens and there we go - head first into the gutter!
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied He took me there Ms Annie! Was Richard Gere at the hospital with his gerbil as well?
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - oh dear - I am not sure who took who where LOL
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@annied @graemestevens Ms Annie, you owe me one after dobbing me in earlier this week. So you have to take my side this time around ;)
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens ah yes - in the interest of fair play that is probably true
Mr Stevens you have a filthy potty mouth that sleeps in the gutter!!!!!
will that work for you Sam?
October 16th, 2014
Sam
@annied @graemestevens yes it will work Ms Annie. And I will tack on TWAT BOLLOCKS!
October 16th, 2014
October 16th, 2014
@gigiflower @annied Yes, but what's your point?
October 16th, 2014
Beautiful!
October 16th, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much
October 16th, 2014
