Where the magic happens

I'm feeling uninspired today, so this is the inside of my shed, which bears a remarkable resemblance to my mind. Haphazard, disorderly, full of junk, cobwebs, and unused and forgotten items that were once treasure. Reginald is in here somewhere too, and if you spot him you can have a gold star and go to the top of the class (but don't take your books because you won't be there for long).
Best viewed on the black if you have to view it at all.
impressive
November 28th, 2014
@axika Thank you - I have no idea what's in here anymore...
November 28th, 2014
You have a good peg board here and that is impressive. The rest looks just like my husbands garage/tool shop and thats they way he likes it! I'm not allowed to tidy anything up!
November 28th, 2014
not too bad...I've seen worse !
Who do you call Reginald ?
November 28th, 2014
@cocobella Thanks - Reginald is a very small toy dinosaur...good luck
@maggiemae Nobody touches anything in this shed either...and thanks
November 28th, 2014
It's all out in the open now - Graeme has a severe case of OCD... this is TIDY to the point of serious concern.
November 28th, 2014
Is he on top of the left most spray can, top shelf? There is at least a small maybe-dinosaur-shaped object there.
Great image. I spent the afternoon helping my brother clean up his workshop, I didn't take many pictures, but seeing how interesting this image looks, I probably should have. Your shed is clean compared to his. :)
I'm trying to figure out what's happening with the roof? It looks like a skylight.
November 28th, 2014
you have hidden it IN a box on a shelf....or you have lost it and ask us to find it for you .... it's cunning ... ;)
November 28th, 2014
Nice tools. I imagine they can get the job done.
November 28th, 2014
*cough* the pegboard has an orderly fashion to it...
November 29th, 2014
@livvy It's deceptive - those are the only things that I can find...
@bigugly It never fails to amaze me exactly which jobs they get done either...
@cocobella He's definitely out in the open...
@ludgate It is a skylight...I have to be able to see who or what I'm torturing. And good spotting ;)
@vignouse For me...it's definitely not tired. Where you to see my alphabetically arranged music collection, wardrobe and cutlery draw...then you would be justified in saying I had OCD. My mind and my shed though, for some reason, are two things that I just can't bring into line ;)
November 29th, 2014
I can see a strong resemblance between what you've shown to be your mind and the inside of your shed. Hope Reginald is ok. I do not have the sense he is as *gentle cough* haphazard nor disorderly. Could be rough for the little guy!

Spotted on the leftest most can of the leftest most tall shelf. Facing left as well....I'm noting lefty pattern here. Significant?
November 29th, 2014
@voiceprintz He'll be fine...some things have been known to make it out of here alive, and good spotting
November 29th, 2014
Heck, can't find Reginald anywhere! No top of class for me. So what do you do out in your shed? Are you handy on the tools?
November 29th, 2014
@888rachel I've inherited a lot of these from my Father in Law, but it's generally just "home handyman" stuff, building things to set on fire, a spot of welding...I did build and install a TV aerial this morning (it even works)
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens Wow, I'm impressed!
November 29th, 2014
@888rachel So was I! Every now and then I manage to take myself by suprise!
November 29th, 2014
Poor Reggie he could be lost forever in there.
November 29th, 2014
@janiskay I kept a close eye on him and he made it out alive
November 29th, 2014
Nice tools. Do you have a pick axe?
November 29th, 2014
@vignouse yeh where is the haphazard and disorderly @graemestevens
November 29th, 2014
Fun shot. Looks like you have a lot of fun equipment to play with in there!
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens hahahahaha nothing wrong with alphabetising your CD's and/or DVD collection - how else are you meant to find them - it is the wardrobe and cutlery that will give you away hahahahahahahaha
November 29th, 2014
Cool stuff! I couldn't nail down Reggie though. :(
November 29th, 2014
A cut lunch and compass is required to traverse hubbies shed, but he knows where every item lives. :)
November 29th, 2014
@amandal Of course...who doesn't? In the corner that you can't see are the big boys toys like axes, shovels, sledge hammers, pick axe, mattock...
@kt8ird It's one of my happy places...
@annied I have been betrayed by cutlery many times in the past...never trust a spoon
@juliedduncan I wouldn't dream of it...his feet are too small to drive a nail through...
@hermann I'm no longer entirely sure what's in here although I do know that somewhere I have at least one of everything...
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens they are the worst kind!
November 29th, 2014
@annied The last time I went near a spoon we ended up with a daughter...
November 29th, 2014
November 29th, 2014
I don't know... Looks pretty organized to me. You even gave a clear space on your workbench. Didn't find Reginald though.
November 29th, 2014
That pegboard looks VERY organized! I think you just messed the rest up for a photo-op.....
November 29th, 2014
OMG---ur really a tool guy :)
November 29th, 2014
Well that is a pretty comprehensive shed shot.......everything in there that a man who dissects stuff could possibly need! That is a proper shed....no kettle in there though!
November 29th, 2014
Now that's a SHED!!!!!
November 29th, 2014
Sam
It looks messy to me but I'm sure most males would be thinking "awesome"!
November 29th, 2014
I don't see any body parts in here.... Or signs of blood.... Though now I have written this it feels a bad thing to write knowing there are people out there with sheds who do such things.... Scary thought.
November 29th, 2014
@gigiflower oh Sam how on warth can this look messy? Your shed must be like better homes and gardens
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens I saw you across the gall in my psycho ward haha
November 29th, 2014
Sam
@annied HAHAHAHAHAHA laydeeees don't have sheds however we do have a garage - "my" side is of course very much like Better Homes and Garden!!! My husband - well I have no clue where anything is located and neither does he. He often says "have you seen that thingy"..........to which of course I say "No, because I don't know or what you are talking about"........and then he goes to the garage and doesn't find it so we go to Bunnings and buy another one - only to be lost within 6 months (all hiding somewhere on his side of the garage!!)
November 29th, 2014
@eyeamlisa He's there...it's a bit of a Where's Wally...
@tabarlett The tools hanging up are the only ones I can find!
@joemuli You need tools to torture people...
@happypat No kettle...but I do have a kettle element...
@chippy1402 Yes, yes it is :)
@newbank Scary thought indeed...I keep all that in the "other" shed...
@gigiflower @annied Evening ladies. So sorry to be late on board but one has been out drinking. Shocking I know. And now, goodnight. ;)
November 29th, 2014
I suspected that would be your answer.
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens what a disappointment
lol
November 29th, 2014
David said not a bad looking shed! there's approval for you!! I saw him gold star for me
November 29th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens @annied ALWAYS a disappointment.
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens @gigiflower well the straight jacket shock treatment is cool hahaha
November 29th, 2014
Neat shot in b&w - looked hard for Reginald - of course the vice was the first place that I looked, but he wasn't there!
November 29th, 2014
You DO have plenty of tools........! Glad to hear that Reginald is still around, lucky thing!
November 29th, 2014
I haven't a clue where he is. I thought he was on top of the paint pot too but probably not.
November 29th, 2014
@newbank There is another shed, just to the left of this one...it's the scary shed.
@gigiflower @annied You say disappointment, I say drunken bum on the verge of falling over.
@pinkpaintpot Woohoo well done you ! And thank you.
@dide He's definitely nowhere near the vice...and thank you
@lynnilou I inherited most of them from the Father-in-Law,mow hitch has saved me a fortune ;)
@ceilidh He's on the top shelf on one of the aerosol cans.
November 29th, 2014
Love it - I think the content of your mind is probably just as interesting as the content of your shed.
November 29th, 2014
Just like mine Graeme, I like to do all my own repairs, at the moment I am building a new structure to house my new lawnmower.
November 29th, 2014
Tidier than my shed
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens hahaha I shouldn't talk I went out like a light
November 29th, 2014
@jocasta Thank you...and I'm not sure about the contents of my head - things keep falling out
@tonygig As do I, where ever possible...nothing like a new lawnmower!
@dougapic I still can't find anything!
@annied Me too - I think my bulb was blown
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens mine is definitely and the circuitry is a bit fried too
November 29th, 2014
@annied Well, we all knew that ;)
November 29th, 2014
@graemestevens thank heavens I was worried people thought I was normal :-P
November 29th, 2014
Impressive array of tools. Are you allowed to use them without supervision?
November 29th, 2014
impressive is right! looks pretty organized to me!
November 30th, 2014
@andy3168 That's the best time and yes, usually a blind eye is turned providing the insurance is up to date
@trinda Thanks but alas, I can't find a thing!
November 30th, 2014
Hi Graeme! I have a small technical question for you when you have time.
In this photo, I see a distortion seems to be caused by a wide angle lens except the metadata say you were at 50mm. I never noticed distortion in any of your photos before. My question, did you take this photo in a magnifying mirror or is your shed curve?
November 30th, 2014
@daneau I've used a very old Russian made wide angle lens, fully manual, adaptor to fit the canon...no mirrors, just playing
November 30th, 2014
@graemestevens Great, Thanks a lot for your quick answer. Now it make sense :)
November 30th, 2014
Great metaphorical shot and share!
November 30th, 2014
@kareenking Thank you kindly :)
November 30th, 2014
plenty of character in here....nicely done
November 30th, 2014
@tellefella Thanks very much
November 30th, 2014
Just like the inside of my mind.....too many projects, some shelved permanently, some waiting to be started, disorder and chaos.....Is Reginald on top of a spray paint can on the top shelf on the right?
December 1st, 2014
@panthora That's exactly where he is...and my mind is the same. I never seem able to clean it up and get some form of order...
December 1st, 2014
Lee
I expect you can lay your hand on anything you need to find in there!
December 1st, 2014
@gamelee Eventually...
December 1st, 2014
I would so take this photo!! In fact, I have a shot of my husband's old toolbox somewhere! I could get in lost in a really well-populated old and junky shed and/or building and/or barn! So much character in this! Fave!
December 2nd, 2014
@lbluejaye8 Thank you so much :)
December 2nd, 2014
Haha, you could do a bang up job or a tooth extraction in this space. :)
December 2nd, 2014
@darylo That's the aim... ;)
