We have a new oil rig in town, or at least at the port, being overhauled and refurbished before being sent out to deeper waters to sustain our insatiable lust for fuel and oil based products. This is taken from Ngamotu Beach which is about 5km from my humble abode (Tumbledown Manor), but because we live on one of the highest points in New Plymouth we can still see the top of the rig from home. We live at one of the highest points so that we can look down on the poor folk and they can look up at us, ineffectively shaking their pitchforks in our general direction as we strut along our parapets wearing panda fur suits and eating the freshest of seal fillets that can be found (yes, sweat shirts and bacon all 'round).
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Aha - a lovely image. I'll be down that way in a couple of weeks, so look out - I'll be poaching again! Thanks for the location! My sister looks across at the top of the rig, so not quite on the lofty heights like you. I do like the composition and colour too.
