Day 2 of the One Night Stand challenge brings me to the most dreaded and feared category of all...SOOC. I'm having conniptions about posting this because now you can all see just how heavily I rely on Lightroom to come up with anything approaching usefulness...
With that in mind, my fingers were twitching and my mind racing, so you can see the processed version here: http://365project.org/graemestevens/other-stuff-tha/2015-11-10
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
I'm the same editing is part of the whole thing, I see enough reality. Given a free hand the world would look a whole lot different. But of course I'm only in kindergarten compared to you..
@kategoring Thanks - it is an interesting exercise but I think I'll stick to editing ;) @jack4john I'm not a big fan of reality...and thank you, but to be honest I'm still fumbling my way around Lightroom!
Oddly enough, I find the color version much more menacing because it has the (demented/psychopathic/misogynistic/serial-killer-ish/deranged) guy-next-door feel to it! Such normal hands, yet such a warped inner-life! Oh, sorry, was I getting too personal? ;)
@juliedduncan Too personal? Good lord no. I'm comforted by knowing that in "reality" I'm none of those things... @jothan The tags are there to try and save the image! @northy I do know that but I wanted to be as basic as possible for SOOC, just for a change. The only concession I made was to use a very light ND filter. @vignouse Unfortunately I'm all out - the last person who knocked on the door still has my last pair I believe. And a peculiar gait.
I remember when my computer was down and I had to post a whole week without editing! It was torture! I gotta get me one of those gas masks! Great SOOC, Graeme!
I actually find the SOOC version much more disturbing in it's stark reality then the edited one. Feeling a little creepy over here in the direct beams of this stare.
Oh you poor thing! Posting this picture SOOC must have felt like I do going out into public without makeup. You couldn't have found a nice snake for SOOC or something? Still, suffering is good for the soul, right? In which case artists who suffer for their art must have very robust souls. :)
There was a reason Photoshop and then Lightroom were invented :-) SOOC is soooo overrated I much prefer the processed version. All that colour is just not right for a shot like this.
SOOC is sheer torture, but I don't buy the excuse that you were shooting RAW....the next time you could have your camera shoot RAW+JPEG, and you could still post the B&W version!! Well, it's over now....next!!
@panthora I hate it...but, it's my story and I'm sticking to it. @brigette I'm going to have to work hard to bury it again @chippy1402 I completely agree. @kevin365 I can't help my pale and pasty complexion... @dibzgreasley You're not wrong @ahleena I never go out without make up, even I'm not that mad @yaorenliu It's a horrible place to be
Even if I like the edited version better, this is a great and creepy enough shot for the sooc. It always needs a good base, also if you are a master of editing.
@summerfield I may have put on too much weight for that... @mindeater It will do ;) @tracie8266 The last person I said that to had a coronary @mona65 Thank you very much - I detest SOOC ;)
@mastermek It's shockingly awful when I don't edit, and not much better when I do
@jack4john I'm not a big fan of reality...and thank you, but to be honest I'm still fumbling my way around Lightroom!

@hermann Nowhere near
@amandalockie At least some one finds it creepy!
@orangecrush Thanks very much - this is the very last time I'll be doing SOOC though!
@juliedduncan Hmmm....
@brigette I'm going to have to work hard to bury it again
@chippy1402 I completely agree.
@kevin365 I can't help my pale and pasty complexion...
@dibzgreasley You're not wrong
@ahleena I never go out without make up, even I'm not that mad
@yaorenliu It's a horrible place to be
@graemestevens it is still interesting
@deborah63 I can't be helped... ;)
@taffy Only just though ;)
@annied Barely...
@mindeater It will do ;)
