Loner. by graemestevens

Loner.

I had a frank and open discussion with my inspiration this morning. As yet, it refuses to come back, at least until living conditions and pay rates are vastly improved.
This shot actually works surprisingly well on black if you have the time.
My other shot for the week, for the Fiveplustwo theme of "Human Condition" can be found here:

It's a crap shot as well though, so no rush.
Shoot.

This chap is trying to remember his password. He missed the boat.
January 30th, 2016
@mastermek I wish him luck - I never thought of staring at the ocean until I remembered my password...
January 30th, 2016
ah yes... those "courageous conversations" as we like to call them in management-speak... you forgot to apologize for the colour... but as there's really mostly only one colour, i shall consider forgiving you...

@mastermek bahaaaaaaaa!
January 30th, 2016
Love it on black!
January 30th, 2016
That's the trouble with modern technology... Always there, always asking for passwords.
January 30th, 2016
very evocative
January 30th, 2016
just concentrate on being technically good and your inspiration will want to know why you are ignoring it

What's that old chestnut "you come into the world alone and leave it alone" maybe we got it wrong and it was only ment to apply to wading birds. Only a thought.

Great comp and nice on black!
January 31st, 2016
@radiogirl Thanks very much :)
@jack4john A thought as relevant as any that I've had today...
@kali66 I did tap on my shoulder briefly today as I water blasted the house, but then it wandered of again...
@mastermek I think I'll stick to axes and hammers...they never ask...
@harbie Thank you very much :)
@northy I decided not to apologise beaches I'm feeling a little belligerent today ;)

Yes it does. Hope the union comes to your rescue.
January 31st, 2016
Quite minimal.
January 31st, 2016

January 31st, 2016
Simply beautiful
January 31st, 2016
Great capture - your muse is working quietly and effectively.
January 31st, 2016

@deliad Thank you very much :)
@alinz I won;t hesitate, even if I have to write a strongly worded letter
@amandal Indeed...like my inspiration at the moment
@pusspup Someone better come to my rescue.
January 31st, 2016
It remind me - how insignificant.... This should be a award wining photo - great idea.
January 31st, 2016
@yaorenliu Thank you very much :)
January 31st, 2016
Love the feeling of isolation and distance in this shot. Amped up by the lone seagull in the foreground.
January 31st, 2016
is this perhaps YOU?... imaginatively speaking...there on the beach...inspiration somewhere over the horizon, froliking with your mates, the b@$&@*d...leaving you alone to ponder where it's gone and when will it be back???...hmmmm??? don't worry...it could be worse...you could be unable to see the waves...or tiny wave in this case... which i quite like... with the gull there and his tiny reflection...fav
January 31st, 2016
Very cool shot! It does work surprisingly well on black (then again I shouldn't be surprised, it almost always does)... It's very minimalistic and colorful for you :) but it works so well.
January 31st, 2016
@golftragic Thank you kindly...he looked so alone...
@maree_sanderson Thank you very much - it could well be me, but I guess we'll never know...
@kerosene Thank you kindly - I've always though the default should be black....

Beautiful simplicity.
January 31st, 2016
I really like this Graeme. Such a grand perspective and so simple.
January 31st, 2016
Yes, my own inspiration has been overly demanding of late and I've not been able to raise the funds for its return. At least your uninspired is able to aptly fill in...
January 31st, 2016
love it on black, the bird & reflection really stands out that way
January 31st, 2016
Excellent shot.

@nickspicsnz Thanks very much :)
January 31st, 2016
It will come back in its own good time. Seems you can take a half decent shot without it anyway, so when it returns tell it to sod off!
January 31st, 2016
Nicely captured! My inspiration comes from taking 1000s of photos then looking for a needle in the haystack!!
January 31st, 2016
I like how the sea looks vast in front of the bird.
February 1st, 2016
@888rachel Thanks very much :)
@photographycrazy Mine comes from somewhere and frequently wanders off...and thank you
@yrhenwr After it's recent behaviour I think it will be getting a jolly good telling off when it does arrive back
February 1st, 2016
