To be honest, I feel a bit deflated.

The penultimate shot in the gripping, drama filled series "Things What I Found on the Beach" brings, for your delectation, a slightly deflated puffer fish. Luckily for all involved Mrs. S is currently in her second year of studying as a chef, so for tonights culinary adventure we shall be embarking upon a course of Fugu Sushi. I may not be around tomorrow as apparently this fish is more poisonous than cyanide if prepared incorrectly...but hey, you only live once, right?
In closing - no, not really...I left it where it was.

If you can stand the tension, stay tuned for tomorrows dramatic conclusion to the latest installation of beach related shots.
Love this!!!!

Excellent story telling brought some chuckles when we read this. Loved the composition, PoV and B&W. Not so hot on the dead fish. FAV {shady}

@pasttheirprime I seem to spend a lot of time on my knees for most of my shots, luckily after 22 years of marriage I have fairly well trained knees ;)
March 4th, 2016
what an extrodinary thing to find. great shot
March 4th, 2016
Awesome find!!! Super dof and shot and all that :) and I thought you were serious about Mrs S making it, I'd heard about the fugu fish and your fate if not preparing it correctly!! Glad you left it there :)
March 4th, 2016
@pixiemac Thank you very much :)
@kerosene Thanks very much and all that - there was no chance of me taking it home, fish skeletons have a habit of falling apart at the drop of a hat...yes, I've tried.
March 4th, 2016
Certainly looking a bit deflated.. @dide and I saw a dead frog on the road the other day and both said if Graeme was here he would get a shot of that..

Lee
Puffer fish make a great skeletal display, so you might want to bury it instead of eating.
March 4th, 2016
What a bizarre find, nicely shot :)
March 4th, 2016
his lips look a bit chapped from being blown up
March 4th, 2016
Cool find on the beach. Looks like a tasty, poisonous, dead fish...
March 4th, 2016
Live on the edge! Anticipating next shot, 'same puffer channel, same puffer time.
March 4th, 2016
@joysabin The next one is full of drama...maybe
@epcello I decided not to lick it...
@kali66 I should stop blowing then...
@hermann Thank you very much :)
@gamelee Apparently they can only inflate 8 times in their life...not sure how true that is, haven't bothered to google, was told by 16 year old daughter.
@julzmaioro He would indeed ;)
March 4th, 2016
Export this to Japan sounds better than risk eating yourself.
March 5th, 2016
@yaorenliu At least they'd know how to prepare it!
March 5th, 2016
Isn't he cute?! Great b&w.
March 5th, 2016
ewww...nasty fellow...good shot though...
March 5th, 2016
Sweet thing- doesn't look delisssssh tho':)
March 5th, 2016
Crikey, I'm sure that face reminds me of someone, maybe a pollie? Hope you weren't too disappointed by not getting to taste it, I hate sending Sympathy cards.
March 5th, 2016
@golftragic That "pollie" comment gave me my biggest laugh this evening. Many thanks.
@graemestevens Her lips look like a plastic surgeon was here. Hope I haven't offended anyone. Very cute, in a collapsed way. I have confidence in Mrs. S and her cooking skills.
March 5th, 2016
Nut bar for sure and this is a hoot but a beautiful creature
March 5th, 2016
@jgpittenger Thank you kindly - it's just how I roll ;)
@golftragic LOL, and they say I'm a nuttier ;)
@rosiekerr It takes more than that to offend me...a lot more ;)
@joemuli I don't think it would make a very good snack...
@maree_sanderson Thanks very much :)
@kwind I thought so, in a dead kind of way...and thanks
March 5th, 2016

March 5th, 2016
Aaaw, he does look deflated - dead I'm assuming? Love his lips, made for kissing... would you be up for it?
March 5th, 2016
It looks like it is smiling. Must have been a happy death?
March 5th, 2016
they look much happier in the water - although he is still smiling
March 5th, 2016
@annied For some reason I always feel sorry for dead fish. And hungry.

March 5th, 2016
Interesting specimen.
March 5th, 2016
@overalvandaan It was quite a big on as well, which is the way I like my specimens ;)
March 5th, 2016
I think I'll leave it to others to dare to eat a puffer. However this prickly sucker looks like he met his end naturally.
March 5th, 2016
@juleshoogstraanderson I'm not brave enough either...
March 5th, 2016
Ok, this made me laugh! If you had another one, you could make a pair of slippers! :)
March 6th, 2016
@juliedduncan We use sheep for that in this part of the world...
March 6th, 2016
Can't imagine it would have any affect on you
March 6th, 2016
@joansmor And...it didn't ;)
March 6th, 2016
