Nobody Home by graemestevens

Nobody Home

It's been another busy day at 'Tumbledown Manor' with cars to wash, lawns to be mowed, gardens that needed weeding, ironing to be undertaken and lets not forget the obligatory painting.
This is a small portion of the wasp nest that I eradicated last week. I may not like the inhabitants but they certainly know how to build.
Nice tones and textures - and stuff...

Your eradication might be interesting - smoke and fire? Whats a six sided shape called - A sexahedron?
March 28th, 2016
@maggiemae I bought some wasp spray and waited for night, when they were all in there. And a 6 sided shape is a hexagon.
@northy Thanks, I like stuff.

I have some more of these, if you're in need of extras. 😉

I really like this in b/w, very interesting to look at.

@LaLa Thanks very much - to be honest, I had no time for anything else.
@kerosene Thanks very much :)
@julzmaioro One of them tried to have a go at me while I was painting today. He's now white.
@kali66 Think yourself lucky that you didn't see me in action
@noko411 I think I'm okay, thanks anyway ;)

Tumbledown Manor, I guess it's a older home and needs upkeep? Great b&w shot, lovely contrasts.

My 'boys' made it to the summit, they waved but I think you were on a coffee break!!!
March 28th, 2016
@juleshoogstraanderson It was built in 1963. We bought it 5 years ago but, for the 20 years before that nothing had been done...
@alinz My missile launcher must have missed ;)
March 28th, 2016
@graemestevens haha they stayed at a hut at the top of the Puffer Track then got up at 4am this morning and reached the summit by 7am and watched the sun come up!

This looks awesome! Love the b&w and structure!

Lucky !!!

Well exterminated, Graeme. Nasty b...ers when they swarm over you, the results are not pleasant. Excellent capture to prove your success.
March 28th, 2016
Nice detail. I must admit I hate harming any form of life.... but wasps..... I always make an exception for. :)
March 28th, 2016
love it...glad it's empty...love the physics of it...very cool
March 28th, 2016
Great textures, they are fascinating we had one last summer!
March 28th, 2016
@ukandie1 Thanks very much - hopefully this is the only one we'll have!
@maree_sanderson Thanks very much - they're quite clever for barbarians
@swillinbillyflynn Likewise, little barbarians
@365projectorgsebgritt Thanks very much - they are nasty, ill tempered little blighters
@hermann Yay me!!! ;)
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :)
@dibzgreasley That's about all though ;)
@alinz I've been up tot he summit once - fantastic view but I think DOC needs to seriously consider installing an escalator
March 28th, 2016
Great in b&w, love the texture and structure.
March 28th, 2016
Gives me goosebumps - I don't like wasps and they don't like me
March 28th, 2016
wonderful
March 28th, 2016
Nicely seen and looks good in b&w.
March 28th, 2016
@pools82 Nicely disposed of as well ;)
@carla42 Thanks very much :)
@jocasta To be fair, I'm reasonably certain that they don't like anybody at all!
@btwebb Thank you very much :)
March 29th, 2016
wonderful architecture
March 29th, 2016
@annied Built by bastards
March 29th, 2016
@graemestevens ha ha indeed
March 29th, 2016
How interesting to see all the textures and the repeating shapes. B&W brings this out so well.
March 29th, 2016
@taffy Thanks very much :)
March 29th, 2016
Shows respect for their architecture. I don't appreciate the little beasties at all but respect the them from a distance.
March 29th, 2016
Maybe suggest a good architect for a bit of variation??
March 29th, 2016
@golftragic It could do with some stainless steel...
@joysabin I don't like them at all but they're clever little blighters
March 29th, 2016
Quite an infestation you had there!
March 29th, 2016
@vignouse Even although I waited until after dark to "blitz" them, they were less than happy - they're just uncivilised barbarians!
March 29th, 2016
beautiful building by bastard barbarian beasts (sorry for the balliteration)
March 30th, 2016
@gazdi Bloody brilliantly balliterated
March 30th, 2016
Clever little buggers, oh that's not polite, but they are bugs aren't they, bugs are insects aren't they?!
March 31st, 2016
@overalvandaan Buggers is fine - it's not a swear word here ;)
